Digital Gemstone Photography & Video Policy

At Multicolour.com, we believe that purchasing natural gemstones requires accurate and trustworthy visual representation. For this reason, all photographs and videos published on our website are created using professional photographic equipment, controlled lighting conditions, and standardized imaging procedures designed to provide a fair and representative depiction of each gemstone.

We do not use artificial intelligence (AI) to generate gemstone images or videos, nor do we use AI-based tools to alter, enhance, or modify a gemstone's appearance.

Unless otherwise stated, all photographs and videos displayed on our website depict the actual gemstone offered for sale. Stock photographs, computer-generated renderings, and representative images are not used for individual gemstone listings. .

  • Professional Photography Process

Each gemstone photograph is individually produced by our imaging team. Our photography process typically includes:

    • Professional camera equipment
    • Controlled lighting environments
    • High-magnification imaging
    • Colour balancing and exposure correction
    • Multiple image reviews before publication

The purpose of these adjustments is solely to ensure that the gemstone is represented as faithfully as possible under the documented photographic conditions. No modifications are made to artificially improve color, clarity, brilliance, transparency, or any other gemological characteristic. Many of our gemstone images are photographed at magnifications of approximately 10 to 20 times actual size, allowing inclusions, cutting details, and other characteristics to be examined more closely than would normally be possible with the unaided eye.

Please note that gemstone color and appearance may vary depending on monitor settings, mobile device displays, ambient lighting conditions, and individual visual perception. While every effort is made to present gemstones accurately, minor variations may occur.

  • Why Additional Photos and Videos Are Limited

Many customers understandably request additional photographs or custom videos before making a purchasing decision. While we appreciate these requests, professional gemstone imaging is a specialized and resource-intensive service.

Creating additional photographs or videos typically requires:

    1. Retrieving the gemstone from secure storage
    2. Preparing the stone for imaging
    3. Setting up lighting and equipment
    4. Capturing images or video footage
    5. Reviewing and processing the media
    6. Uploading and publishing the files

Custom video production requires significantly more time than photography. A typical gemstone video may require approximately one hour of photographer time, including setup, filming, multiple lighting adjustments, editing, rendering, and uploading. Because each custom video requires substantial photographer time, we are generally unable to provide videos for every gemstone in our inventory.

  • Fair Allocation of Resources

Our photographers are responsible for documenting thousands of natural gemstones for our catalog. Every hour devoted to custom photography or video production is time that cannot be spent photographing and listing new inventory. To ensure that new gemstones continue to be added to our website in a timely manner, we must carefully balance individual media requests against the needs of all customers.

For this reason, custom video production is generally prioritized for:

    • Gemstones undergoing significant purchase evaluation
    • Higher-value gemstones
    • Special customer requirements approved by our sales team

This policy is not intended to discourage inquiries. Rather, it allows us to allocate our limited photography resources fairly while maintaining the quality standards expected by our customers.

  • Video Request Guidelines

    As a general guideline:

    • Existing photographs should be considered the primary visual reference for most gemstones.
    • Our published photographs are typically sufficient for evaluating color, clarity, cut, and overall appearance.
    • Custom video requests are typically reserved for gemstones valued above USD 500.
    • Approval of any video request remains subject to photographer availability and current workload.

Where multiple gemstones are being considered, we may occasionally provide a single comparison video featuring several stones rather than separate videos for each gemstone.

Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • Questions About a Gemstone

If additional media is unavailable, we are always happy to answer specific questions regarding color, clarity, transparency, brilliance, cut quality, dimensions, origin, treatment status, and suitability for a particular jewelry application.

In many cases, our gemologists and sales specialists can provide the information required to support a purchasing decision without the need for additional photography or video production.

  • Our Commitment

Our goal is to provide customers with accurate, reliable, and transparent visual documentation of every gemstone we offer.

This policy allows us to maintain high standards of gemstone photography while continuing to expand our inventory and provide fair access to our photography resources for all customers.

We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your interest in our collection of natural gemstones.
